just picked this up. Never had a fx1 nor a yamaha period. This year's Grayland open I got the bug when I rode a buddies superjet. So off we went. Ski already had some goodies but definitely needs some refining. Plans are to do a pump swap and some minor motor stuff. Gonna rocker the nose and widen the tray. I already shortened the pole made a limiting rope and im gonna order a pivot bracket within the next few days. Needless to say I got bored tonight. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

First layer of glass just to tie it all together. We're from Seattle area. Rivers and lakes. There is a pretty big group of us up here. Can't make it to the slam, we have a wedding and my wife is a bridesmaid and we have seriously been looking for reasons to flake out on it but everyone would know the real reason haha

Little update. 650 pump is in with x2 nozzle. Trim functions well and has more available throw than ever required. If I had to guess 40 degrees. The pump swap defiantly is a little harder than everyone says. Tracking down parts is no sweat. 2 52x20x7 seals, 1 52x20x15 bearing and a zxi900 driveshaft handles that part of the situation just fine. The yam coupler threads right on the zxi shift. However the pump gets quite a bit of grinding and the pump tunnel gets a bit as well. If you do it I recommend grinding more than you need off the hull and build it up with glass as you will grind into foam. Then you use washers to shim it to the perfect spot. Just had to make a bracket for the trim cable and drill and tap the other side of the pump for cooling. I used the old scupper bulkhead tube to run my cable for trim. I found leaving my motor loose and the pump loose helped me get them all aligned at the same time. The difference in pumps is a substantial improvement. I had a good solus progressive imp in the fx1 stock pump and this crap 15 skat still stomps on it. Got a blowsion pole mount from a hommie on here and some more goodies. Also modified a set of x2 tubbies to fit just right. The motor gets the treatment next. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. Super fun ski for sure.

I'll get some more pump and nozzle shots tomorrow. I only turned the tray bottom to find my riding position. I emailed hurricane to see if I could get the adjustable Bob holds without the tray pieces and just the plates and holds. We will see what they say
