FX-1 FX1 hood seal

Where can i get a good hood seal for the FX1?
Which is the best way to install it in the jetsk? (best glue?)

Thanks!

Im with specialfx! one of the great things about the fx is that, with a good oem hood seal and good condition latches the fx1 hood is very solid and hard to dislodge. Other hood seals may keep water out just as good as the stock one, but not sure its possible for any seal other then stock to retain the hood as well as oem.

Does the OEM hood seal need glue to install it or the adesive is strong by itself?
Is there a specific water resistant glue for the kind of things?
OEM hood seal costs 150$!!!... So i want to be 100% how to install it, so i don't ruin it...

superglue....

fx hoodseal is much easier to install than a superjet..it actually fits

make sure you clean all the old seal and glue out........lightly sand and clean with acetone

lay the new seal in..........then put the hood on and make it all nice and happy

then run a bead of superglue around the entire outside edge of the seal.....let it dry, repeat on the inside

i made my own a couple weeks ago out foan weather stripping. it works, but id like the oem one. i checked yamahas website, and it says $158 for a hood seal. is that what you guys paid? seems outrageous. is there a place to get them cheaper?

I'm using the watcon, my hood also bows out badly, which is inhibiting a perfect seal. I know another member put a large clamp on his and stuck it in a giant oven and it fixed the bow. The oem is nice, but I got tired of having to flip that little lip out around the hood. My hood seems to be off a lot so I need quick and simple.
