Super Jet Gap between engine and midshaft couplers

I'm putting together a superjet I bought on here recently. I bought a used midshaft assembly and just dropped the motor in. I have it pushed as far back as it will go, but there is still a gap in the coupler. I'm assuming the midshaft is pressed too far into the bearing, but I wanted to verify. I didn't take any measurements when I installed it since it supposedly came out of a running ski.

You can add a washer first on the shaft then screw the coupler on to close up the gap a little more too.

^^ agreed, had to do this on my ski when I built it. Added about a 2mm thick washer on the midshaft coupler to close the gap.

I have to motor shimmed properly, I'll mic out the gap between the couplers tomorrow to verify distance. What diameter washer did you use on the shaft? What side did you shim the coupler?

Can't remember the inside diameter of the washer I used. If you have a mic you can just measure the coupler end and go from there.
