Other Garage cart/stand

Well, I wanted to build a garage cart/work stand for the SJ that would allow me to easily put it on the trailer and be adjustable so I can make it an easy work height.

I was looking a modding a lift from Harbor Freight as well as building one using a sissor jack, but ended up just building an old fashioned wood one.

The funny thing is, with the tops of the bunks being 25", it ends up being basically the perfect work height.

I threw on 10" pneumatic tires so that I could roll over extension cords and such without issue. Each tire is rated for 300 pounds load. I did pivoting wheels on front only. I find having pivoting wheels all the way around to be more of a pain in the azz even though it can be helpful from time to time.

I plan on putting trays with lips on each side to hold tools and parts, and I'm going to put an eye hook on the front and back so that I can secure the ski via tie downs. I'll also use it to secure it to the back of the trailer to keep the cart from moving while transferring the ski.

No, it's not pretty, and yes it's heavy as hell, but I'm happy with the final, almost, product.

Oh, and here's Smoofer molesting Bill's Craigslist steal - $100.

For anyone looking for garage stand ideas, here's a really strong one I made out of 2x6s. Made it for my SJ but it'd be strong enough to hold bigger skis if the bunks are widened. Plans are shown in video. Perfect height for sliding on/off my hitch hauler.
