Up here in Canada we can already buy "marked" or "dyed" fuel for any off road use. It's 7 - 9 cents/litre cheaper and is meant to be used for farm vehicles. Marina's sell "marked" premium right off the wharf.

Sure beats collecting receipts and waiting for a refund.

You guys should think yourselves lucky, we in the uk are paying £5.50 per gallon, thats over $10 dollars a gallon , and we cant claim anything back. :bow28:

What sucks? You expected a credit on fuel consumption?

Interesting law, but I bet the filing process will take longer than the ski season to process. At least some people will get a few bucks back.

It's called not having to pay taxes originally intended to fix the roads that your boat never contributed to the demise of.

It doesn't take that long to do the forms (I have spreadsheet on pc), and .17/gallon adds up quick, especially when you are running 3-4 boats all summer.

Just my .02, er, my .17.

8/ Special provisions for specific nonhighway uses: in Alaska, marine use of gasoline and special fuel is taxed at 5 cents per gallon, others partially refunded as follows: 9.8 cents of the 12.8 cent tax for commercial fishing use in Florida; full refund of tax used in motor boats in Kentucky; full refund of the 20 cents tax for gasoline used in commercial fishing boats only in Louisiana; 19 cents of the 20 cent tax is refunded for industrial use in North Dakota. Aviation gasoline in Missouri is fully refunded if used for commercial or agricultural purposes.

are you a commercial fisherman?
