Super Jet Gas Tank Vent

What vents fumes OUT of the gas tank?

Example, it's summer and the ski gets hot. Or it's on a trailer, and the ski is getting bumped around from the road creating fumes and pressure in the gas tank. What relieves the pressure?

There should be a vent that runs up to your pole from your gas tank with a check valve to stop water from going in your tank

Im not sure I agree with ya there. The vent, vents, or else it would pressurize till the carbs blew gas into the cylinders hydrolocking the motor, or it blows the fuel lines off.

It does let air into the tank.
But it also lets air out of the tank if the pressure climbs above a certain level (not sure what it is).

That's why it's supposed to be ran out to the pole so you dont get fumes inside the hull. A lot of us cut them short and it keeps the water out of the tank but you should always remove the hood before starting, especially after setting. there should be an arrow on it showing how it goes

Yep, no air flows through. It shouldn't... should it? One way vale = air moves one way... correct?

Sounds like it should vent the other direction above some ammount of pressure.

Do all of you still run the water trap with the fuel vent?
I removed mine to do some glass work, never put it back. I rode all last year without it and it hasnt been a problem. I do run the one way valve though.

Ize just wondering.

An oem one will vent at a very slow rate starting right around 5 psi. You can find replacements for cheaper from auto parts stores but do not run one. They do not vent until failure at around 40 psi. Most people run a pop off below that so running one of those could get you in a very sticky situation. If you want to cheap out just coil up some hose and secure it under the tank strap but I personally would even advise against that unless you open your hood before every start.
