gator grip is a fine product... It's not better than HT though

one thing I do like about GG is the backing material... the design is dated IMO... needs some updating

Red and Black Gator Grip---go figure....

Black Hydroturf

Steve suggested grey for the turf, but I will put another color in with the graphics that I end up doing. Leaning towards silver and carbon-fiber "look" graphics.
did you see jens bot at lanier. his was black and red gator grip.

Yes, I did.

Personally, I thought it looked pretty good with the Gator Grip in those colors. His was an all-black paint, though---mine's gonna be red on top and black on bottom, so it will look a little different.

i like the look of it.the color combos are the most apealing thing about it to me

I just think it will be different than the "norm" out there right now. The Black and Red Gator Grip will complement the red and black gelcoat very well, IMO.

Again, I plan on the rails, the chinpad, and a few highlights in Gator Grip and Hydroturf for the bottom mat.

I have an employee who is ordering some sheets of it to put on his boat, I will let him know what you guys said about it being more slippery than Hydroturf.

I've only done simple turf jobs with it and have not had problems. The HT on my SX-R wore through to the gel coat w/in a month, so I replaced it with Gator Grip. I like their colors. The black & blue (what I have), black and green (used to have), and black and red are particularly sharp looking. I don't have any good pictures really showing the Gator Grip, but you can kinda see it in the attached.

lol - i just put a quick post with a few pics in stuff for sell under the ebay fairytale story.

hell - i thought the last sheet i bought was 107 bucks shipped to TN from CA. 3dayparts.com is where you will save a lot, great to deal with. covered two XPL's and the sxr tray. had the purple/white on a 95 hx, looked sweet - for purple.

i like gator grip, a little slicker with shoes on - seems to be a lot more slippery then hydro-turf with bare feet. very forgiving when mating cut surfaces, doesn't mold as much under heat gun and swells a lot more then hydroturf when you add the weldwood. it does have a grain to it that can look funny if cut akward.

the only thing that sucks about buying it is GatorGrip DOES NOT support the PWC community and HydroTurf spends more then their fair share supporting skis - kinda makes me feel like a loser everytime i buy GatorGrip.:banghead:

from experience using gator grip; the black on red - red base black dots - unless they improved it in the last few years it will quickly become black on pink if left in the sun. so pull out your 80's / 90's wet suit to match that turf by year two.

other colors do well, black, black/silver, blue/white - the red black was a nightmare though.

I like gator grip. If I coould find it anywhere in a color that would compliment my ski then I would go for it.

However, as said, I think the transition from gator grip to HT would be a little rough.

i had it on the x2 i just got rid of, i had the blue and white. It is just as easy to install as hydroturf, but hydroturf would be easier to match up the petterns when installing. It definately is not as flexible as hydroturf, so if you have footholds i wouldn't recomend it but for the average rec rider, it is a good alternative to hydroturf. I am going to do my girls blaster in it when it comes back from paint. The colors held up good for 4 years on the blue and white stuf i had, but i garage my skis most of the time.
