gel coat

ok i got a question about what to use. do you use epoxy and a dye for the color or do you use the polyester gel coat that uscomposites sells. just curious cuz the polyester is the only gel coat they sell and i thought that polyester will not bond to epoxy.

use epoxy and paint it after it cures as desired. Gel coat can be colored, however cured epoxy still exudes amines which tend to delaminated the gel coat eventually. Don't do it!

Like 12 years ago I bought in to a crap company that eventually failed. It was called Surface Pro. We used 2 part epoxy with the desired added color and re finished counter tops and other stuff.

I don't know much except that we sprayed it through HVLP guns and we had to mix the 2 part epoxy then add the color and stir it and shoot it.

Seemed tough as nails!

Duratec. its the sizznizz and is urethane and bonds perfect to epoxy. it can be color matched more like a paint. uscomposites has it and its worth every penny
