Custom/Hybrid Getting a homebuilt title in Texas

Jace Forest...BRAP!
I am going to be getting a ski titled as home built soon and wanted to know if it needed to be a complete ski or if it can just be the hull. I ask because where I live a game warden has to come out and inspect the ski and I have to have receipts to back everything up. If I can I would rather not have the engine in when I get it titled so that I don't have to show receipts for the engne which would bring the tax charge up ALOT.
Also if anyone in Texas has gone threw this your .02 would be very helpful.

Do you have a titled ski? Just tell the guy you are putting your motor from that ski (that was already taxed) into the hull. In Washington they were going to let me do just the hull, but here they don't even look at the thing they make you pay tax and your done.

you might try calling TPWD office and ask them.

they've been very helpful in the past when I've had registration questions

I'm not sure if Rickter issues a MSO with their hulls - so you might try asking Skinnyman how he got his new ski registered.

Too bad you're not in Houston, because at the Beltway 8 TPWD there is a lady named Lori who is makes it her mission to help you get your stuff titled and registered. Everybody else at that office sux though.

EDIT - You might actually call to that office, ask to speak with her, and see what she has to say. Heck, it might even be worth the drive down if she can get you straightened out.

Texas parks and wildlife = TX pain in the a@@.

They can be pretty vicious. It took like a month to get my Jammer registered from GA and a ream of bill of sales but I got her done legally. The lady here in Corpus is like that lady off Monsters Inc. lol
