Getting FX1 ported polished and milled

idk man i was getting really really close about half revolution on some wakeboard boats and bare in mind too i dont go out in the surf ever and i have no footholds. i do all river riding. plus my ski loves to cavitate alot with the poop prop that i have on so i cant really get the torque i want. bottom line is that i can most likely do a barrel roll with my fx1 stock but its gonna take a lot more perfection. i realize that its not really about the power but right now i know that if i had more amp i could get a full revolution even without putting footholds into my ski and im not really trying to hit the rev limiter into a wakeboard boats wake.

Man, you must have some real balls if your trying rolls without footholds. I think when the ski is about to land on top of you and you're upside down, you're gonna want some holds. For now just throw on some lifters or straps... If you want to SAFELY learn rolls, you need some sort of foothold and a helmet.
Anytime I get upside down I'm locked in my holds and wearing a helmet. No other way to go, especially when learning.

think of a prop like tires on a car. more horsepower will only make the prop perform worse.

Ive never understood why people ignore the pump but love buying big motors. my spare 6m6 motor had more snap with a tuned pump than a stock 701 AND my 762 ported big bore did with a stock pump and crap prop.

Im not ignoring it, i cant afford it. Fork me out the cash to do it and by all means ill start taking a hack saw to my ski immediately. Trying to do a 750 pump swap on a stock EVERYTHING fx1 is dumb. Take your stupid tire theory. Put 40in swamper tires on a 4 cylinder tacoma. Makes zero sense.

You better add an MSD enhancer to your buy list too. With the pipe and other mods you plan on doing you will need it. Otherwise you will be bouncing off the rev limiter all the time.

Woo! For someone so new you sure have a lot to say! i didnt say to put a 25 pitch prop in, i said to get rid of your bald tires, big difference. A 750 pump swap on a 61x ski isnt anywhere near dumb. Dumb is adding power to a 122 pump with a junk prop. Good luck with your ski there ryan. (PS, a prop/pump is cheaper than port work, unless you buddy with a dremel is going to try it)

It's your money man. Just know that you'll be able to get a hell of alot more out of your setup with a bigger pump.

i agree with both of you. not saying otherwise, and i actually plan on doing pump work after iv got my first stage done, didnt mean to offend CRJ. i actually appreciate the comments. hahaha dude i have a 96 tacoma 4wd v6 i know what they are capable of. what i was trying to say before i made myself look stupid was that i wanted to get the engine work done first for the reason of cash, iv got a little right now so i wanted to do motor work first, then after i got all the cool engine work i could go ahead with the other things such as prop, pump, dual carbs/one 48 (idk yet) and stuff of that nature. i also did it because i knew if i did some of the serious mods like a pump i wouldnt short change myself with a stock motor, i would get full effect in a sense. not saying that im just gonna do engine work and call it good. idk if you guys read my last comment but i have an areiltek cdi. any comments as to the legitimacy of power or problems to it?

If your going to run the 61X motor do the following. High compression head, b-pipe or Coffman sizzler, Wetjet 46mm single carb setup, MSD enhancer, ocean pro steering nozzle, and a skat swirl impeller from Impros pitched to 20/26. You will have a solid performing FX-1 with the stock pump.
