I just stripped down my X2 using just a heat gun and didn't have any problems. I would really get it heated up though - holding the gun about 1/2" from the sticker to really spread the heat and then it came off like a prom dress.

Goo-off works good. you should be able to find it at any hardware store. Spay it on and let it work for a minute then the stickey crap will rub off.

its not 3M the brand is aircraft (most auto parts stores carry it) I have not used it on really nice paint but the ski I did use it on the paint all stayed on the ski. it says its ok to use on it. thats what it was designed for. just try it in a small spot first.

I used an eraser wheel from my autopaint guy, if you buy the 3m brand your gonna pay like 35, go for the generic one. I don't remember the name, but this thing shreds through decals, u attch it to your drill and it litterally rubs the decal plus residue right off. Great product...

I bought "Sticker Shock" from Pep Boys, it was a good price and worked great (a lot better than Goof Off in my experience).

May want to check it out.

Goof off sucks compared to those other spray can adhesive removers :headbang: I tried em all and ended up with the spray can too .
Brake cleaner works good too but doesn't stick to an upright surface like the spray can does :woot:

by far the cheapest and best i've used: ITW Dykem remover/cleaner if you can't find local, you can find it on ebay. a gallon will last you forever and it's cheaper the most other products. squirt it on, wait a minute and the goop pretty much rubs off.

never had a problem with it hurting surfaces - msds link below.

it will not dig thru sticker surface like wheel, but i have lightly rubbed a wallpeper scoring thingie across it and let it soak to assist with entire sticker.
