your going to need like a 4/7 prop for that
lol!

.. Same goes for the powerfactor pipe. Not all big engine mods work on smaller engines. Heck Malone runs the 145 mag in his pro level hulls with massive engines. I can't see the 145 offering anything over the 140 for a ported 701.
Maybe I'm the one over thinking this but it seems crazy to spend $1500 on a 145 mag when you have a 140, then spend $1500 on a power factor pipe, then another $1000 on bigger carbs, and $1300 on total loss for............a 718cc engine. Go for TL and if you have money left over, put it in a fund for a bigger engine next year.
seriously yes you will need some silly pitchno i won't, lol.
The only thing i disagree with is buying the used msd. i mean if you do go used, get the dual channel so if the brain goes dead you can get the replacement. If i had to do it again, i would buy my tl new. actually i buy all my parts new now, at least the cool parts.
Its kind of like when a mechanic invests in his tools, They are there later when he needs them. The 145 and powerfactor will be there later when I need them. I do plan on going bigger, either back to JM for big bore or XS865. PF and bigger mag wont hold me back as far as I can see, and I checked with Blue who did the porting about the powerfactor. He said it will make a difference, I know someone runnig a powerfactor on a stock stroke octane and he said it was an improvement. (OH and the sound of a powerfactor!!!) As far as spending 1300 on a total loss or even the 1600.00 new price tag, you would have to be high, or have money to waste. I just saw a MINT setup go on here for 775.00 I will be buying a used TL for sure.
Shae's Octane sounded exactly the same with the dry pipe....bump up your compression and put some water the your exhaust and it won't sound so raspy.....plus it's only a little baby 718 stupidjet motor haha

yes get the multi channel tl, if you buy it used just buy a new brain to have on the shelf, i have had one there for almost a year, i hope it doesn't go dead from sitting
We will see what a "baby" this motor is. You still havent taken it for a rip. see you on the lake tomorrow.
9/17
bigger domes.
haha good catch. Going to get a set of 33s. Anyone want to buy a set of lightly used 31cc domes? or trade?
