Getting the most throw out of your steering is a fairly easy mod that most can do themselves. Since most on here ride a Superjet or Superjet based ski then this is how you get the best results.
You must modify both the steering and pump sides to get the max effect.
For the steering side you have to run a turn plate that has an multiple extended connection points and use the one that's furthest out.
If you happen to be running a OEM chin pad you will have to notch the pads connection bolt support. In order to get proper the clearance, I had to notch mine so far it was to the point of breaking off so I made a thin Stainless bracket to reinforce it.
Notched and reinforced OEM pad connection support
On the pump side you must move the steering cable connection point as close to the pump as possible, making sure the steering cable does not rub on the pump housing . The easiest way is to just drill a hole in the steering nozzles connection arm closer to the nozzle. This works but you have to do some major cable adjustments to get your steering straight and so you probably won't get an equal amount of throw on both sides. A better choice is to make a small plate out of aluminum or SS and drill a whole new position for the steering cable. IMO this option is preferred because you basically don't have to do any adjustments to the steering cable ends and you get MAX throw in both directions.
Changing the steering connection points is only half the job. You also have to notch the sides of your steering nozzle so that you can get the additional turning radius you're looking for. I recommend doing this with your pump removed and by taking out just a little material at a time because how you notch the steering nozzle is different on each side due to its irregular shape.
The side opposite the connection arm is a pretty straight forward radius notch.
On the steering cable connection side the proper notch shape looks irregular to the eye so it's fairly easy to mess up.
This Mod has worked really well for me. My steering throw is to the point where if I went any further I would get blow by out the side of the nozzle. It's a pretty easy mod that you can do yourself in a few hrs Good Luck!
