Getting the superjet ready

Here is the plans:

Remove RRP and spring and make a spacer to run a tight bolt...hopefully this will make the pole less annoying and maybe even redeem itself......but I doubt it.

Remove 38 mm carbs and install 44mm carbs and boysen intake manifold

Repair 2 broken bolts that hold in the battery tray. It looks like I need to drill it and use an easy out. Anybody got any other ideas or easier ways to remove it?

Make some hood adjustments so it will fit on the hood seal a little better than it does.

New primer fuel lines and filters

And if money permits I may get one of those bada$$ o ringed DASA flywheel covers and have my flywheel lightened.

to remove the bolts in the battery tray... you can use a center punch and a hammer. if you hold the center punch toward the outside diameter of the bolt and hit it hard counterclockwise, you should be able to get it out far enough to loosen it by your fingers.

I broke the bolt last year...it was the first time taking the battery tray out. Front two snapped but the back two came out easy...beats the hell out of me.

As far as the RRP goes it is way over priced for what it is, I have seen better bolts and hardware sold at walmart, the whole spring and perch is a joke, for some reason my pole doesn't want to stay up it just wants to fall and crack me in the back of of the head whenever I need to work on my ski....maybe it needs Viagra or ran thru a chop saw :Banane09:....not to mention it weighs a ton which is the whole reason why I wanted to run a spring but it doesn't work to well...also if you think you might need some decent directions on how to install it good luck. You would think with all the money you spend on these handle pole the would come with some decent install instructions. I could on for days......

I have my RRP so tight that I hardly can move it when its dry but on the lake I don't even notice it. That pole is top notch IMO. Please tell Rick you are sorry for those comments.

I wouldn't loose sleep over what brand pole is on your boat. I've had XMetal poles for four years now. I've ridden boats with UMI, AC, RRP, and XFT poles.
If I weren't so lazy, I'd switch back to an OEM pole.

Pole's a pole.

Well the first one came out fairly easy. I was quite surprised but I did have go up a bolt size. The second one didn't turn out to well. I finally get the hole drilled then when I went to tap it my tap breaks off flush.....$&^$!! :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:
Looks like I may only run 3 bolts for my batter tray. We'll see.

Finally Updating!!!!!

Finished my final for school today! Glad it's over with. :beerchug:

Now I have some time to finish my ski. Here some new pics of the super jet and a new project it will be starting sometime soon. All I have left to do is figure how this chin pad goes on, turf it, make some other adjustments and I should be ready to go.
