Well I finally pulled my motor and flipped my ski over this afternoon to survey the extent of the damage and maybe start the repair work. Well, after sanding for a while to prep for glass work, I figured I'd ask for your opinions. Is this worth repairing, or should I just put her out to the pasture and say my sad sad goodbyes to my baby?
I love my ski, but with the extent of the crack and missing chunks I don't know if it's worth repairing and if it would hold up. This was my first SJ and project from last winter, so it'll suck having to trash it after one year.....but :dunno:.
Also have about an 8 inch crack in my hood too.
It's been a productive year for me in regards to busting up my shlt....but this is the finale. Looks like my season might have ended earlier than I wanted.

That's not bad at all. Easy fix. Use the right materials and you'll have no trouble out of that. Does it extend past the bulkhead rearward? If not, then it's cake.

Am I ready to stop........not just no, but hell no! But after jacking up mine and then Wayne's skis, I don't have anything else to break!

A RN is is definately the route I'd like to go.

pretty similar what happened to mine, except mine does that above the bondrail and below the bondrail and met on the bondrail. Im trashing mine or i might get a roundie then fix this as a project later on

Yup, sure did. She just couldn't hold up though.

I just got home and headed out to the garage right now Duck. Skinny offered his assistance tomorrow if I need it too, so I should have her back on the water for Sunday.:woot:

Well, due to the responses I went ahead and patched it. Just got done laying the glass on the hull and the hood. That'll leave me tomorrow get an exhaust coupler, sand, paint and drop my motor back in. Looks like I'll be on the water again!! Boo-yah!!!!
I'm glad.....been going into withdrawls!!

Don't worry about it dude, it'll buff out!!!!

LOL!!

Well....it held up yesterday. Got a 4 ft. ugly ass patch job that resembles seagull poop, but it held up. I tried to beat the hell outa that side yesterday to see if it would, and it passed.:Banane13:
I found another sn hull, hood, pole, and some extras including a protec head for $100.00. It's in pretty good shape. No cracks anywhere. One small spot about the size of a nickel on the bottom that's pretty thin, but other than that it's nice. Figure I'll pick it up and start cutting it up for the new winter project. I'll move everything from my ski over to it and rebuild a motor I have and spend more time on the body work for my black ski also and keep it for a backup.
