Yep, i want to know too much about tractors. Im thinking small, old as possible, cheap as possible and i need it to be able to lift a pallet of sod or bricks. Ill want a bucket and if it can also be like a clamshell or grapple whatever you call it. Forks, probably make a custom boom to lift trees or posts, not sure if they make that? Box blade, maybe something to cut brush. And a backhoe. At work we have a small john deere and its wimpy. Barely lift a picnic table. Ive run skidsteers which are great but dont have all the utility id like. So please, brag about your tractor. Whats good, whats bad, what do i need to know, is there a different or better option like 2 machines? I know nothing, so tell me what you have and why. Oh and obviously the more maintenance and repair i can do the better. Ive done auto, jetski, composite and so i guess im moving into farmalls and tractors as my new hobby/toy/workhorse.

Cmon, dont be shy, i know somebody has been bored to tears listening to your endless stories of your awesome exploits. Man and machine vs the world. Well, im actually interested, so let's have it!!!

Thanks for humoring and old man

Kubota bx s series is real hard to beat. That is a top seller for us. The s comes standard with a backhoe and loader and you can easily attach a grapple to it. There are so many attachments for them.
We get a lot in for routine maintanence, but rarely ever in for a serious repair.

What vintage are you guys thinking? Like 2000s? Try to get close as i can to 50hp?

With the 3 pt pto, are they universal or brand specific?

I wouldn’t recommend getting one this old but you said brag about your tractor so here I go… kubota L275. Same tractor my grandfather had that I drove around as a kid. As soon as I had the property I bought the same model (pictured next to the other tractor my grandfather had - also bought a clone of that when I got my first house). The old kubotas are pretty bullet proof. If you are getting a B series from the 2000s do your research. There were a few years that are really unpopular due to I think hydrostatic issues. Good luck! You’ll love having a tractor! Do not skimp on HP. This 27hp struggles with a 6’ brush hog.

I have an old Farmall cub I am working on , it does have a rear lift but no PTO.s on those , I did buy a Woods belly mower for it , it has a long way to for before it runs again.

We have a ford 2000. It sucks. Does fine for bush hog work but thats about it. 2 wd no bucket not good for much for me. Would love to have a Kubota with a bucket and backhoe attachment.
