Has anyone found a cure for the stinging eye syndrome from riding in the rain? I typically fight for good waves in chop with wind and sleet this time of year. I want to try goggles but i fear they would limit my view. It there anyone out there who makes eye protection with big clear lenses?

I have a pair of Oakley H20's for the lake. work well. let water in but it drains out. I just got a pair of 12$ standard swim goggles too. keeps all the water out, but you look like a tard.

those oakleys were great until I fell in the surf and then the lense popped out and I almost lost it. not good for surf(unless you don't fall) It was nice to be able to see and not have bloodshot eyes.

what is the diff in the loss of sight if you have yours eyes closed from the stinging rain or slightly less from goggles?

being able to pick a line through the channel straight on in 10fters. just seeing if anyone found anything they liked

I have been using the bug eyes goggles from parts unlimited. They run about $10 a piece. The work pretty good in both flat water and waves. The let some water in but it drains. The biggest problem is they fog up pretty often when riding hard. I also go through about 2 pairs a season...

I am looking for something a little better...

These TYR large swim goggles work real well but in the big surf just use a container of Visine.

Turbo, with the air and water temps we are riding in up here, you will have a really hard time finding anything that won't fog up.
Just buck up and quit your whinning.

Rain-x helps a lot for fogging.

I wear Spex, too, but they really don't do that much for keeping the water out. They do limit the water, especially spray, and keep a wave or subbing from slapping my contacts out. They also drain very well and don't fog much at all.

I haven't found anything that I'm super impressed with and I've tried pretty much everything, I think.

Wear my prescription sunglasses ,apply liberal RAIN-X , use a headstrap and your good to go ! they deffinatly drain fast and wont fog ! RAIN_X is the ticket ! I have not found a single pair of goggles that won't fog up under certain circumstances yet so I quit buying them .

J/K, salt water burns my eyes so bad I look like I took 10 bong hits after 20mins of surf riding. I tried sea specs but didnt really help. I might need some tard swim goggles.
