Going from dual 38's with one fuel pump to carbs with two pumps??

As the topic says, I want to go from dual 38's to let's say dual 44's. The 38 combo has only one fuel pump, but the 44's has two. How's the extra pulse line connect to the casings? There's only one input?

And does the 61x mani for the 38's fit the 44's, or would I have to change mani as well? If I do have to change the manifold, would my old vforce 3's fit the new mani?

Thanks

You can split it off the current line - simple and effective
Add a pulse fitting to the other intake track - Most work, best method.
Use reed spacers that have a pulse line on them - can hurt the bottom end.

In reference to your first post, you will need a new intake manifold, your 62T 38 mani will not work. Stock 44 manifolds are pretty cheap, and came on the flowing:

96-97 Blaster 2
Raider and Venture 760
XL760
GP760

You can use the same reeds interchangeably between the manifolds. You will need to change your flame arrestor setup, 38s use a 3 bolt adapter and 44s use 4...

I tapped a hole in my case with the motor in the ski, using a 90 degree drill. Got the little NPT fitting at Ace or the auto parts store. Keep pulse lines the same length if possible.

Thanks for all your replies. There seems to be a lot of methods to do this - just need to figure out which one to use, if any at all. Haven't decided if its worth going with larger carbs without case porting.. Have to eliminate the weakest link :/

Too bad the 38's mani don't fit 44's - would've bin more convenient :/

You just need to add another pulse fitting in the front. Useing a T on pulse line is not the way to go.
We have the oem pulse fittings in stock.

The 62t mani for dual 38s only fits dual 38s. If you change to dual 44s or up, then you will need another manifold, but your VF3s will work with a different mani.

If you dont want to deal with adding a pulse line why not just go to an external fuel pump like a Mikuni DF62? Also, I'm a little confused by your post, do you have X cases or T cases?

If you dont want to add another pulse line then the DF62 is an option like I said in my previous post. You can't see how that would work? No pumps on cabs, 1 fuel pump that uses 1 pulse line, 1 feed line, then has 2 fuel lines out to feed 2 carbs. Idk.

I know what you mean - its just wast to purchase carbs with two pumps on, and then disassemble them to remove the pumps, and then run an external.. Just seems stupid IMO :p
