I know either aluminum or stainless for cooling thru tray tube, but what diameter? 3/8?
Also, what are you guys using for trim tubes?
Need to know ASAP cuz I'm driving out to a local metal shop in a minute.

1/2" PVC for trim and you can tap NPT internal threads and use a liquid tight fitting from mcmaster

Got some 3/8 stainless and a 10x8 13 gage piece of stainless for a pole backing plate. It has no flex,so it'll be good! Love metal shops. 4 feet of tube and the plate for 16$. Not bad. Off to ace for pvc and stainless nut serts( tray drain plugs).

Got the pvc. The 10x8 plate wasn't long enough.. Might make two seperate plates with it then. Here's my drain plug setup : stainless tee nut with a stainless socket cap screw, and an o ring. All from ace Hardware.

Like that drain plug setup. I may do something like that on mine, but my hull is sealed so I may use a wood insert with some epoxy.

I used 3/8 aluminum tubing. For drain plugs I used brass bushing 1/2 to 3/8 with a brass plug drilled my hole small epoxed theme then screwed theme in put epoxy on the inside made a ramp to the holes

I was just curious because my hull has a .50" od aluminum trim tube, so a .680" major thread diameter wouldn't work for me. I like the idea though. You said you use 1/2" pvc, what are the id and od measurements of that tube?
