l've been having trouble with my hands for some years now.l had carpel tunnel surgery a few years ago on my left hand and it healed up well. The pic is of my right hand,if you notice where the bones come together, there is no padding,Bone on bone.l knew this had been going on but what made me go to the doc was the numbness. No feeling in my thumb or first two fingers. There is a constant dull pain, but that is about it.The carpel tunnel is causing the numbness, which in a way helps the pain.

l have had some problems riding, not feeling my fingers on the throttle. This can prove to be very interesting at times and close to disaster! Believe me when l say that.Surgery is Oct 15th and recovery time about 3 months.Maybe in time for Daytona.

Thanks you all for your thoughts. My anesthesiologist alan,is a good buddy and told me he would put a block on my arm which should last for several hours, but then the pain will increase from there....geeez l can't wait. The last time l had surgery,my little buddy and his friend did some prankin on me,which l didn't discover until the next day. Can't wait to see what they do this time!

hmmm, thats not good. Recently ive been having a similar problem with my left hand (my pinky and ring finger) where they feel like they are asleep 75% of the day, no pain or anything just numbness and asleep feeling. Should probably get that checked out.

Yes but just think of all the things you will be able to do again soon, lol.

so, how long after surgery is it still considered a "stranger". :naughty:

Did get the Laproscopic ''2 little incisions'' or did get the big gash sliced in your hand ? The reason I ask is My fingers went numb at the VB ride and are still that way so Im sure Im due for the same surgery .... But Im waiting for after tona to get cut . I was just wondering which way you got cut . supposedly laproscopic is less recovery time ?

Carpel Tunnel surgery is what you are probably speaking of and it's just a 5-6 week period.l had that done plus l had a small bone removed where the forefinger and thumb bones come together.A small piece of cartilage put in it's place. The doc also took one ligament from a finger, drilled a hole in a thumb bone, pulled it thru and then tied a knot in it.That will give me some spring to my thumb again.Looking at 6 weeks as the tough part for recovery.

IMO most specialists would go the the laproscopic way,no need for big gashes anymore.

There are advantages to having no feeling in your hand........

It feels like sombody else is doing it.

lol
