Good deal for this 98 SJ?

Thinking about checking this ski out...the guy wants 2700

The super jet has over $2500 dollars done to it. Here is a parts list:

98 Yamaha Super Jet
-Riva racing cooler head
-Riva reed spacers
-Twin carb 38s
- Riva racing filters
-Riva filter socks
-Riva Ride plate
-Riva impeller

For one, it's a '97 or '96, the '98s were blue with black trim. Secondly no, it isn't a 'good' deal, IMO $22-2300 is what I would probably pay, maybe more if it turns out to be way nicer than it looks in pictures or I was jonesing to ride really bad.

Thanks man, thats just the input I was looking for...seems like in so cal the demand is pretty high for these. I did just miss out on a 96 that was surf ready for 2500. Showed up to the guys house 5 minutes after he sold it to another guy :aargh4: It was on CL for four hours.

The demand does make it hard to get ... seems like nothing really special is done to it , it looks nice though. If it had a pipe I would be on it like crazy

Yea I am not sure about that, the trim got painted black though. I just got these extra pictures...its a girl selling the ski but I am going to go look at it on monday. I might offer 2.4k If its a 96 or 97 on the title.

Yeah thats a Riva Red Pipe. Not bad, its a heavy cast pipe though, they go used for $200-$300 I believe.

It has a Riva head on it too, and looks like someone is rocking a tooth chipping no chinpad mod, lol.

Yep, it's a 1996 or a 1997 based on the purple gunwale pads with the old school Riva Stage I RPM kit.

It's not a bad deal.

The red pipes make great power! They are just heavy and kind of a pain to work with.

Check the last two numbers of the HIN tag at the back of the hull. They denote the model year.
