I have been happy with hightempsilicone.com
if you search for them on ebay sometimes you can get it cheaper there then the site. The heavy duty ones are a PIA to get on but once on they hold up better then anything else I have tried. You can get nice t-bolt SS clamps from them too. The other place I have found them cheap (but lesser quality) is from random trucker supply places, same stuff is used for big turbo piping.

Found this site on ebay, could get 5 with clamps for $41, or a foot for 31.

I think that is the same people because mine say HTS on them like those. LIke i said search ebay I was pretty sure they were on there and they hold up great. On my type 4 i was blowing couplers every 2 or 3 rides then i got the HTS 3layer one and it lasted for about 2 seasons until I pulled the pipe and the coupler was still good. On my b-pipe it is better then the FPP ones because it goes beyond the coupler section of the pipe in both directions and hold great. I am sure MCmaster might be cheaper but I know these work and I don't have to cut them and you can get different colors too.

I found a 4 inch coupler off a 300sx stock exhaust the other day in my garage. Looks like it would fit perfectly. If I was ever in that bad of an emergency I'll remember its there and give it a shot.

So do I want 3 or 4 ply on my Type4?

As luck would have it I am working from my home office today and i just ran out to the garage...the one I ran on the type 4 was a 4ply. PIA to get on but it lasted forever. It was prob. overkill you will be fine with a 3ply (what I run on the B-pipes)

Factory Type 4 couplers are 4-ply silicone couplers (3.5" X 2.125"), and Jon at JSS, sells them for $18 a piece and can probably cut a deal on bulk orders. The company he gets them from doesnt sell to individuals, but he says they are the best.

Also has anbody used these clamps? The website says they are especially helpfull on applications where blowoffs and leakage are a concern...

I use that clamp on my old ski and you have to be carefull you can cut right through the hose getting it too tight. They hold really well. I got them for a this trucking company that I do alot of work for and he always gives me anything I need (well small stuff anyhow) So he gives me sillicone turbo hose and clamps anytime I need them.

I wasnt sure so I just went with the normal T-bolt one. The site also said for their couplers not to use normal hose clamps as they can cut through it.

I just ordered a chunk from hightempsilicone, they didnt have any clamps, but can I get a t-bolt style at an auto or hardware store??

I have never looked for anything other than standard style clamps at the store...maybe want to check into that you could save some coin on shipping.

I'm not sure if you guys have access to Samco silicon hose over there, but if so, I suggest you get it. It's heaps thicker than the crappy FP stuff, and is still quite easy to get arounf the manifold/pipe when brand new.

I have used this stuff on the last 3 pipes I've had, and have never once had a probem. It's good for the b-pipes too as it's stiff enough to hold the pipe off the bed plate/engine mountand also off the sides so you don't have any rubbing.....choice!
