Go Pro's are awesome! What's not to like?- except for the price! Unfortunately for Go Pro they no longer have a monopoly on the market since cheaper comparable alternatives are now available.

Check out the SJ Cam SJ4000

For a company that markets to extreme sports athletes its inevitable that were going to lose a camera here and there, and losing a $400 Go Pro really stings the pocket book! IMO they've priced themselves out of the market.

They make one now that is going to be around 130 bucks to compete with the ones you refer to.

Go Pro does? That would be great news. I'm curious what you will get though in a $130 model. One thing we realized about the new Go Pros (Go Pro 3) is that the lower end models only film in fisheye, which is really only good for "selfie" shots. You have to buy the Black (The $400 dollar one) to get the lens options where you can film other people or anything further than 10' away. To be fair, I haven't purchased an SJ4000 yet, it may only film in fisheye too.
