Just got an HD; 720, 30fps is plenty for quality and still ok to edit!

personally I like to use 720 at 60fps for ski footage. less flicker while watching and difference in resolution of that and 1080p is not super big deal on a typical computer monitor.

Quick and dirty, there wasnt much light out by the time I got home. Im just walking around with the cameras in my hand, you can tell how much more stable looking the fisheye lens is. Sometime if I get a chance ill shoot some action footage with them mounted next to each other.

Thanks for posting that comparison Lefty, These two clips show what I'm talking about. Compare the footage starting at about 10 sec in. This is where its most noticeable. In the fish eye clip, the red ski in the background appears to be really far away while the red ski in the ragecam lens clips appears much closer. If you plan on filming others then the fisheye is a poor choice. Hopefully Go Pro has addressed this with the new HD2. If they haven't then the ragecam lens conversion appears to be the ticket.

The ragecam lens is cool, but I have trouble aiming it. The fisheye is so wide that as long as the camera is pointed in the general direction youll capture it. The ragecam lens you really need to be pointed right where you want to shoot, which is difficult while riding.

I have the LCD backpack to assist with aiming, it helps a good bit. My camera mount is in the same spot all the time so aiming it is predictable

here is some video both above water and below from our vacation to the Dominican Republic shot on resolution 4 I think its 960 X whatever at 30fps, also a few stills taken the difference is substantial from the stock lens. video to be added as soon as I figure out how to do that.

Got mine from WWW.makospearguns.com all gopros come with a flat lens included or u can buy the flat lens for
$21.95 . It's a sweet deal. They also have some really nice wetsuits.

I just got the hero 3 black and trust me its worth the money, i filmed about 45min total of a mx practice day and it burned about half the battery, the picture is a true 1080p and the sound it picks up is sick, im somewhat of a home theater nerd and i can honestly compare the image to any HD sports program( but some can really suck) and even a blue ray. i got the PNY 32gb micro sd card for mine and so far seems to be plenty of mem, my computer is a POS but i will see if cant upload a segment or two
