cheers Jim

got a hero black for xmass, reading all reviews and it sounds to be superior to all the others, just make sure to get a float kit cause the new mounting tape isnt any different than the old ones

Just tried mine yesterday. Froze up 3 times even after the update. Tried to upload a video to youtube and failed to upload. Something about an incorrect file or some junk. I did my research and only got the black for the high fps knowing it has glitches. Guess I'll have to work through them.

What brand of micro SD card are you using?

I ask because I have the gopro 3 white and when using my official "SD" brand micro SD 2 gig card that I already had, I havent had any problems yet... BUT, I bought a "HC" brand micro SD 32 gig off ebay and my first video is good no matter how long I let it run, but after that all the next video's are corrupt, and thats not even shutting off the camera power. That's just pausing in between videos.

Are your corrupt videos coming up as "UNDF"(meaning undefined) when you try to play them from the camera, or u/l them to computer and play them?

Ive also been doing some reading and have seen that peeps are having some problems with the "PNY" after market brand of micro SD card.

I know there are ways of getting that undf video back yet, just havent gone their yet.

Let us know how it goes!

Make sure to get a class 10 micro uhs 1 card. At least a 32 gig. I can only hold like 2.5 hours of vid on a 32 gig. If you don't then the card cant take in the all the data the camera puts out. It is Like pouring 1 gal/sec of water into a hole that can only take .8gal/sec. Something is going to go wrong. You dont need a float backpack. You can make a lanyard for $3 at the hardware store. I would recommend an extra battery as the battery life with wifi on is only a little over and hour. Here is my lanyard.

what he said about the water thing... get a class 10 card.. don't just pay attention to the GB size, the higher the class the faster it writes.. i picked up a 64gb class 10 sandisk for about $60 from amazon... it even came with a regular sd card reader, so you could use the microsd as a regular sd...

I didnt know anything about the class speed. I just looked and my new 32gb is a class 4... No wonder it was so cheap... and I thought I was being a smart shopper. lol

I'm going to get a class 10 this week and see how it goes.

Thanks for the advice!!!

The GoPro3 black and its capabilities are amazing. There are a few bugs that they have but they are continually working on them. The remote to turn the camera on and off is great. The lens on the waterproof case is better (flat) and seems to always be clear with no water drop build up. There are lights on all sides of the camera to let you know its recording.

Just got one myself. $399 with a free 16GB class 10 sandisk ultra card. Love it so far. Also got 2 batteries, wall charger, hdmi cable, 32GB class 10, and a tripod mount.

I bought my GoPro2 like two months before the 3rd one came out. I was soooo p***ed lol. I have heard a lot great reviews and videos of the GoPro3. I'm going to hand on to my GoPro2 until the fourth one comes out.... Maybe!!!

^^What they said about SD cards. Get a higher class and it'll be much better. I have a class 10 SD card for mine. I tried out one of my friend's low class SD card and there was definitely problems with uploading, quality, etc.

I just bought mine from GoPro.com. Great service!!!
