I got tired of lifting skis to move them around. It was a royal pain....untill today! Bought myself a forklift. I know it's overkill for around the house, but that's ok. It will save my back, so I could justify it to the wife. The plan is to make some fork extensions for lifting couches and snowmobiles. One fork already has a trailer ball mounted, too. Now I need a suicide knob. Any other suggestions?

Mount a winch on it. Not to winch the skis onto the forks (although that helps) but as a safety line so one doesn't fall off.
I love working on my ski while it sits on the forklift.

Suicide knobs on forklifts: good

Suicide knobs on your car: see origination of term "suicide knob". How do you think they got that name, lol.

There's no such thing as overkill when it comes to a mans tools! There's only "do I have enough space in my garage for this" Congrats on the cool score!

haha its in the crap pile!!!! it was a 3.6L and i now have the 4.2L tommorrow i am picking up my Doka crewcab transporter for my new ski hauler. My audi v8 may find its way into the t3. the audi on the "lift" is a 5cyl. bullet proof. i should have kept that 2.3l motor because yes it would have been a good motor for the t3 swap. or AAN 20v turbo......mmmmmmm turbo.

20V turbo Transporter would get the ski to the water in quite a hurry but a TDI is easier and a lot more fuel friendly.
Love the sound of the old boxers but them inline motors are so much easier to live with.

tdi sure woulld be good for a truck. i like diesels and turbos. there are some guys local to me that are heading up the subaru conversions for these vans and trucks. I have a buddy with a wrx motor sitting in his garage un used so ya never know.....its kind of a sin to put that rice in a dub isn't it?

A sin indeed especially when you consider how many kraut choices are out there.
Seen the prices of Boxsters lately ?

With fuel prices still so low in North America the 2.3L turbo would make just about a perfect motor for the T's. Plenty of low end, good mid and that unique sound of the 5.
Isn't that why Audi built the 200 in the first place ?
