hey hows it going guys,

Just picked my new 99 superjet up from the shop today,it was in for a rejet and to have flame arrestors and adaptors put on before i took it home for the first time, got it home and went out for a quick test ride before it got dark, now im not sure what there spose to be like as i have only ever ridden a 550sx stand up but it felt like it was bogging badly

The guy that tuned it said he had it out twice the same day and it was really quick and rode fine but to me it felt like crap, I got it off the trailer and just did a few laps in the chop and when i went to open it up it just stumbled untill i backed off, If i got a bit of speed up first then accelerate wide open it almost rips your arms off..... whats the go any ideas? its a 701 with the following mods

Factory b Pipe and manifold - limited chamber i think
stock head 160psi comp
stock twin 38mm with prok f/a
Solas stainless impeller not sure of pitch

To me it feels like its jetted to fat on the pilot side this is my first ever ride on an sj so i have no refernce....

Thanks in advance
MASSEY

should have 70 lows and 135 highs from memory,
maybe your pop offs are to high since you've changed from stock restrictive flame arrestors to a/m ones.
how was it running before the "service"?

I have never riden it before, this is the first time i have taken it out, i bought it from a guy then took it to this shop to have flame arrestors, b pipe and manifold, primer and rejet done, took it out quickly this arvo and it was bogging down not sure if there just peaky or what the hells going on

also how many turns out are your high and low speed screws?
when i'm setting carbs up i start at 1+1/2 to 2 turns out on each(ie rich) then dial back in from there.
what jets are you running?

unsure on jets and needle settings as im not the one who jetted it, which screw is the pilot screw on the 38's and what ways lean lol

pilot screw is the lower of the 2 on each carb and clockwise is leaner.
i wouldn't go changing settings before you know what jets and needle+seats/springs are in it 1st.

went out today for a quick blast, still doing the same thing after running for an hour, real doughy down low but like lightning up top, really annoying since i paid for all this to be done before i brought it home , im going to call the shop tomorrow and see what he has to say, not happy !

if its the 62t cylinders they do seem a little doggy down low and then suddenly rip of your arms. i didnt see if you specified what cylinders you have? but thats some damned good compression for a stock head, maybe a wetjet hi comp. head?
