Gotta beat my dad.

So here is the deal. When i was growing up my dad let me ride his jetski at the river, he had an fx1. Low and behold the only jetski iv every enjoyed and loved was the fx1. So i bought one now that i could afford one. Ski runs great but it is completely stock other then a cdi and a 650 kawi pipe on it and it doesnt have the power like my dads ever did. Dad has a stock milled head, a riva red pipe, vortex airfilter, cdi and a prop. Bottom line is this, make my ski faster all around, bottom to top end.

Now been doing alot of reading and not a whole lot of talking and take note im not made of money or willing to ride anything other then an fx1 (die hard fan) except maybe a 1200cc ricker ski but i dont have 24000 bucks laying around.

So hear are the mods i know that are out there that will help my ski perform

-650 kawi pump swap (alot more to it then it sounds)

-Prop change

-Milled heads

-factory b mod pipe

-lighter flywheel

-48mm carb (i was looking at ATP'S carb, cheapish and dont have to change from stock intake, or am i wrong)

-Port and polish

-Vortex airfilter from blowsion

-aftermarket waterbox.

These are the main things iv kinda got in in mind mostly. Im investigating into milling the head and porting and polishing as we speak to mach the 48mm carb, after that im planning on sticking a factory b moid pipe on (please message me if you know where i can get one because i cant seem to for the life of me) and after the pipe a prop.

Do you think with these upgrades alone will do the trick? If anyone has any input or ideas on how i should go about all this please let me know.

B Pipe, Msd enhancer (or oem modified Cdi- no rev limiter), impeller, head, intake grate, and have someone will knowledge skills port and freshen up your motor.

I would skip the AM waterbox, big carb, aftermarket air filter.

I dont know if that head requires more octane. All i know is that i still want to be able to run 91. There seems to be massive debate on the coffman actually being a a decent pipe. I mean im sure its better then my 650 pipe but either way if im gonna spend 400 on a pipe thats iffy i might as well wait for factory b to actually make there next batch of pipes for 700. I heard that skat swirl is the buisness for the fx1 tho.

If you were going to do a pump change. Im not sure of the kawi 650 pump but if you have to do glass work Ive heard of putting in a 144 superjet pump. I would think that would be better no? Not sure of the work of either swap as I only had a superjet but would think do a bit more work for a better pump if the 144 is true way to go. Winter project im sure

I have a pro tec pipe in my fx1 and skat swirl in stock pump. ski hits real hard. you don't need a b pipe and and a bunch of motor work. if you insist, get a jetmaniac blue ported cylinder and have your head milled and keep a eye out for a AM pipe. that would be a sick combo!
