gp 800 in a sj

I am seriously considering gutting out my sj and slamming the gp800 from waterdawg kustomz! Has anyone done this & what would the guts of my sj be worth for trade? Its a brand new 03 sj hold over that i picked up this year so its still under warranty. Only mods I have done to the motor is the fac B pipe.

if you don't mind waiting till this time next year for parts, go for it.... but i think wavedemon or fl-cracker said they had something in the works were you wouldn't need to go trhough WDK to do the conversion

Well then who does a person from BFE kansas trust? I have talked to TONS of diff shops and they alll have built a better mouse trap! The Gp 800 swap just seems to make more sense to me. 140 reliable Hp that runs on pump gas, with plenty of room to build on in the future! Just a little nervous about giving a complete stranger 3-5k and saying have fun. Im not rich I cant just buy one of each "mouse trap" buy 3 diff ski and try em all out! Just wanting to get nonbiased opinions from real people not salesmen. all help is much appreciated!

I ride mostly on milford lake.....I have never seen another stand up there! Thanks 4 the tip jumper, how do I get in touch with the cheney crew? Wichita is only about 2 hrs from me.

Some of them may see your post. Superramjet, Skywalker, Chad, Lakeman, Mossman. Superramjet, Skywalker and Lakeman have all run 800s. Ram, Sky and Moss had the first three X jets produced I believe, and Lake is running one now, so lot's of personal experience with WD.

Get your parts BEFORE you pay for them. That's the only way to do it. I'm still waiting on parts to run an 800 in a custom hull I bought from Jeff and it's been WELL over a year...

I have my old 94 SJ hull lying around, I should find a 66e engine and shoe horn that thing in there and see what happens. I have been wanting to to this for some time now. Maybe another winter project, I am sure the wife will love that idea:sneaky: Anybody have 66e they want to sell? :sneaky:

Just a hull right now. The 701 is long gone, I moved the 760 & driveline over to my RN project this past winter. I will need all kinds of hardware to make this happen.

Tim mentioned something in another thread.... I have no idea what he is up too though.

Tell Jeff you want the parts.... dont pay up front.... if he gets them done and you still want the parts buy them then.... he is realy all you have to go with right now... he seems to be a good guy.... he just needs to hire someone for the phone, and getting parts shipped... I have had some issues, but he is in the process of taking care of them....
