Gp760 build rumble bee

Hello community. I have a acquired a 97 Yamaha gp760 for free! From the original owner with less then 50 hours on it I’m from Southern California where water racing is not really a thing but I wanna build this into something I can race the ca jet jam circuit this year ..

So my question is what are everyone’s recommendations about building this engine ? Who’s parts are preferred and what not.

The engine is a 65v engine.
The class is gp5 runabout Spark /800
Maximum cc is 800cc

Thoughts on buildout?

Here’s some pics of it I took

Biggest thing you need for that ski is an extended ride plate to keep the front end from bouncing. Ski is very light in the front and is a bouncing machine as soon as you hit some bumps. That’s even with the trim going down. I would have to hang over the front in order to keep speed and try to keep it from bouncing. Even with the extended ride plate you may have to put a couple of washers in the rear bolts to angle it down. Great little ski for play riding. Idk about racing.
