So is there any real cause for concern running a billet cylinder and a larger piston 89mm-91mm in race conditions? Would think you would get hot spots on such a large piston...

I wouldn't even think about running pump fuel either. Too inconsistent.

Im not expert but xmetal tests and tunes at the same lake i ride at. I spent several minutes trying to find the seams in their carbon layup. The quality of their work looks to me second to none. Their 900ss i rode was amazing. What made it so amazin was the power was so smooth like a 4-stroke.

Im sure if you went with someone of quality and respect the maintenance intervals you will be just fine. Brian said exactly whathe wanted and got exactly that. He only sold the ski because he moved to japan and i only didnt buy it because of budget / injury.

He did stick a piston when it was fairly new because he didnt adjust the tuning for the weather changes in winter. Colder is denser is leaner. Its tuned on the edge. K dont think having a cast over a billet cylinder would change that. The billet was uninvolved. Thats actually a good reason to go with a builder who can give you good advice. Brian never had a negative thing to say about the incident so im sure xmetal treated him right.

My .02 i have one of chucks cpt 836 lw 4mil stroker with novi's and a B pipe for an engine that's stock ish reliable and rips you can't beat it it's only a 85mm piston and it's non pv so as long as you jet and cool it right it should last just as long as a pv800. Ontop of that it bolts right in and uses the parts you have now.

I've got the engine that Rius ran, that you are talking about. 66E, upright kit, R&D pipe (modded for the GP800 motor), girdled heads, MSD total loss.

Hey a couple of years ago I bought a WDK 927CC and (blah blah long story, removed engine from SJ because I couldn't get it to run well due to water coming up exhuast..im a newbie)) I now live in Texas and am visiting family in Alaska and pulled the 927 CC engine out of storage and tore it down.

Soooo...I have a full kit (mounts, exhaust, electronics, pistons, cases, heads, carbs, whatever else - except the GP800 bottom end) that I will be making a for sale thread for very soon and I'm going to put it at a low low price.

So yah..maybe that will help influence your decision. Will make a thread tomorrow hopefully after I finish the day skiing. Or maybe I'll do it now.

Anyone know how much width you need in a hull to run the gp800 in stock form? I realize it won't fit in a superjet but I think it fits into blasters? Curious what kind of space is needed to just drop one in. Not sure it's be a good idea to run side draft carbs in a blaster in the surf though.

Sounds like a killer set up. Do you run a 144 pump with it?
