Other GPS Tracker

This has been talked about before but I dont believe it was this product.

So I left a couple weeks ago for the weekend and as I was leaving my house, a house down the street was getting robbed. I drove by as the neighbors were out front with the cops and they were trying to find the teenager that was in her garage when she came home. Anyways I couldn't even sleep well that weekend knowing what toys I had not only in my house but my garage(like most of us on this site) So then I saw this and started thinking it might be a good idea to put inside of your ski. You can track it, get emails when it leaves your inputed boundary, I can just think of lot of uses for this, vacations, at races, when trailering your ski...
I think since I 'invested' a poop ton of money in my new rickter this might not be a bad thing to have on hand for $170 the first year and $96 each year after...

What do you guys think?

The only thing I would say is, the tracker better be microscopic or hidden very well. Because if someone steals your ski, first thing they will do is take it appart and sell it. And they will find the tracker.

As long as it logs the tracking devices movement, I would think you stand a pretty good chance of recovering the ski if you acted right away. Or atleast you will have the gps log right to the house of whoever stole it, while its is sitting in there garage and they discover the tracker. Def a hell of alot better then relying on the cops to find it when your ski gets stolen.

Another thing to consider is since you will be hiding it inside your hull some where, I would also check on how well the transponders reception will be when tramsmitting through the fibergalss and metal of the hull, and what the effective range is. Thieves are usually local but it would be very easy to get 50+ away in a car. If you do get it the first thing I would do is through it in the back of a freinds pickup and give him a hrs head start and see if you can find him.

All good points, the worse would be, if the gps would take you to one of your friends!
I hate any kind of a annual or monthly fees, I would preffer to spend a little extra up front for a good alarm(not company tracked) , more like a car alarm for a garage with the siren in the attic pointing towards the street.

I emailed them and asked about the what they thought about it getting signal through fiberglass, this was the response.
