Other Grip Glue Sucks, any other ideas?

I put some new grips on my SuperJet and the Grip Glue sucks, does not hold after a day of riding. Any suggestions before I super glue the damn things on?

Odi grips. On dirt bikes you can use bailing wire because you can't use Odi's on a twist throttle. For everything else, Odi.

i use odi now but i actually prefer renthal pwc grips with glue and safety wired..non lock on grips are way slimmer..they make locking grips for moto but nobody uses them because they are too fat...

fat grips = armpump

which i guess for freestyle dosnt matter cause u are just riding around in circles..

Extreme for me , the Troy Lee's looked cool with the one way scales . ODI has lock ring end caps with set and forget screws till you have to bust them off if you ride surf .

How do the ODI Locking Grips work? I also see 120 MM & 130 MM, which is the correct one for a SJ?

They come in 120mm and 130mm, with or w/o flange. Any of the sizes will work for you.

The 120mm vs 130mm is the width of the grip. They are all the same diameter and will all fit standard diameter bars. The 130mm is wider than necessary and forces you to move the throttle inwards, making your grip on the bars more inwards. The 120mm are better imo. The flange works ok with the throttle but I prefer no flange on my ski. I've had both and both are fine, but the flange is just extra and unecessary. I like it on my quad, but not on my ski.

I prefer the Odi rogues. I like the feel and the grip. They are a comfortable size and have a gummy feel I like. I never get arm pump on my ski. Something else usually gets tired long before my forearms. My quad does also have rogues, and I get some wicked arm pump on my quad. Maybe I should try some thinner grips on the race quad, but for the SJ, 120mm no flange Rogues is perfect for me.

Oh, and how they work... They have 2 aluminum rings/clamps that the grip clips onto. The rings/grip assembly then slides over the bar just like any other grip. Then you tighten down the hex screws that are on the rings which holds it in place. They also have an end cap that clips into the ring that covers the end of the bar. The rings come in different colors, but you can buy the kit that comes with silver rings and all you need to install for about $25. Odi makes the rings in many colors, Blowsion has the rings that are a full end cap with their logo. I don't like the Blowsion ones. I'm not a fan of the end cap, but if you want to advertise for them, you can pay extra for their logo.

As everyone else said, odi's are the way to go, but super glue actually works well with old school grips.

Cool, thanks for the explanation on the install. I just tried an a tip from a friend to use some clear gloss enamel, so far the grip is on tight and not moving. I will order some ODI's and give them a try. Appreciate all the help.

I hate locking grips.
i don't like odis and I dnot understand why everyone has a hard on for them.

Oury grips for life!
"Grip it" grip glue, green bottle best stuff out there.

Yeah that and ODI uses a strange size allen head screw that likes to round out and you can't get at a normal hardware store (its like M2.5 or something stupid). Plenty of other lock on grip brands, just stop at your local mountain bike store, most of them cheaper too, I think I'm running some $7 Oury's and they use a larger allen head that is normal size.

Standard bar diameter is 7/8in I think.
