Just recently joined the site and also wanted to give a review on a business that did some work on my ski . A gentleman named Harry who owns group k in fort Mohave .az has a excellent customer they also do outstanding work at an affordable price . I installed my milled head and true bored carbs along with my FTP wet pipe today and boy it rips !!!

Thanks I was impressed on the hook up hopefully it stays reliable which I'm pretty sure it will . A good friend has there 850 sleeper kit and its going on its third season

Harry is a nice guy and does reliable work. I've had him lighten flywheels for me in the past.

They do good work. The carb bore thing isn't worth it. Milled head is great just do a comp before and after, try to get it around 180ish.

I've had lots of awesome GroupK motors over the years and more holeshots than I can count. It's up to the owner to install correct parts and tune it to its potential .

Before comp. was 162 and 164ish . Now I'm 185 on both I installed the milled head and bored carbs along with vforce reeds some new spark arresters and a pipe it's really snappy now lots of bottom end power . Also keep in mind I don't race or anything . I just free ride with my friends on the weekends so for what I'm doing I'm pretty stoked with the turn out compared to stock .

Parkersxr,

Does your sxr have a dead spot at 20-30 mph while cruising? mine will only cruise at under 20mph or over 30mph. I find this annoying when cruising and am thinking of putting the stock exhaust back on it if I cant fix it. Grouk K says that is how it is. I was hoping there was a magic fix out there.

why do people not like group k? because harry doesnt update his website? ive head nothing but good things from his motors.maybe i dont know the whole story but if anyone has anything to share, please do.

Harry can make it as mild or wild as you want it. If you want balls out, he'll port or do whatever your heart desires. I once had him do a freestyle 61X cyl. @ 84mm and it ripped hard.

Gildo, why you dogging Harry and Gearhart? :nutkick:

He's done numerous motors for me over the years. Great power, great reliability. He doesn't do the crazy stuff we run now, but is one very knowledgable guy. Always had great dealings with them.

Harry did some work on my motor last summer. Excellent power, was more than pleased. Their site may be a little bland but they are good people to deal with.

People like to bash him because he doesn't sacrifice reliability for performance. So you might buy from another builder who is willing to push the envelope to get a few more HP but Group K will evaluate the benefit vs. the risk and err on the side of caution every time. I believe there's a perception that they don't build fast stuff, but look at all the people commenting on this thread about how fast their motors are. I rode my friend's SJ set up for buoys with a Group K 850 hammer, and it was definitely not lacking in the power department. For the price, and the reliability, and definitely the power Group K is a great buy.
