Anyone use have one or use one? Lookin for feedback.. might scrap the 66e for this.

Either putting the stock 62T in the SJ or 845 in the Trinity..

let me know pros and cons please guys!

EDIT: Yea I forgot there was a 850 Kawi kit from GroupK too...I'm talking the yamaha 845 kit if that clears anything up! Sorry guys!

With the 850 kit if the engine blows or anything the cases will be absolutly worthless because there are no bigger pistons to move up to.
With the bigger pistons you gain a little power but loose rpms because of the weight of the bigger pistons. In my race ski we went to about a 830cc and got the best of both worlds. Kept rpms high and still gained more displacement

i have no personal experience with the GroupK setup, but i say go with a DASA setup, you wont look back.... if you are looking for some strong reliable power
if it's a stock stroke setup you are after, i think DASA can setup a nice cylinder for you

I'd also recommend giving a call to Paul at LPW
he may have some nice stuff/packages he can set you up with, and you will get AWESOME customer service...

The set up adds about what a pipe adds. I am sure it would RIP with a pipe and lightweight flywheel or TL....

I would think the DASA cyllinder would be the way to go and would probably cost the same as a 66e conversion.

I would like to but Kawi's and their porting drink too much gas.

I'm getting towed in my 760 SJ's with the same mods as mine plus 46mm carbs when we fill up at the same time!

I'll have to do some more looking into what direction to go with this 62T setup...unless someone decides to come out with a better pipe for the 66e.

nothing we really can do, all in cylinder design

and riding style... One guy can slowly approach the wave and then nail it at the base. The next guy may scream up to the wave, give it a quick throttle blip before hitting the base and nailing it. The second guy is going to use way more gas than the first.

At the beginning of the summer I was using 2-3 gallons in 3-4 hours. Now that my comfort zone is higher, I'm using 2-3 gallons in half that time on the exact same ski with the exact same mods.

Its more in carb tune. All of our gas guzzlers are fourcycling when they are not making full power. Unfortunately thats the only way a big carb can deliver good response. Use a smaller carb with high pop-off for best range.

yeah, if there is no sign of a pipe yet for the 66e I'm going to probably build up the 62T I just bought and put it in the trinity instead of the SJ hull for next year...

I have a 845 in my surf ski and love it
My set up is exactly set up the way Harry tested
Harry sent me the carbs parts and I had no tuneing nightmares
The power is great for surf in its stockish condition Im sure there is alot more power in that motor(TL /carbs/etc).The porting on the cylinder is very conservitive
The down side is only one overbore but then again its a Group K motor
My set up pulls hard all the power band
Well worth the cost IMHO
With that said my Lamey stock stroke/TL/full specs/Bla Bla Bla
Hits alot harder down low but then again I have a lot more money tied up in that set up.

Good info Skinny, there seems to be very little of it on this motor.

Thanks for the info, I dont have alot of motors to try in MN so compare anything. Most people just have mildly built 701's or SXR's except for 'nube kickin 66e. I want a decent motor with reliability etc for a cheaper price! Need to do alot of research before I spend any money.

If price point is the issue and you already own all the stock stuff this is the motor for you.If you dont have the top end and have to buy it I would look at Team Scream stock stroke set up.
