How would shipping the pump be $500? You looking to get it tomorrow morning?

I would avoid having a crated hull shipped across the boarder. You're going to have a rough time with brokerage fees. I'd wait out the storm for both.

The way things are going down there, I can’t see the border opening anytime soon. I’ve waited three months for the hull to be built. I’m not letting the summer go by waiting for the borders to open. The hull is already crated and I’m getting a shipping quote today.

The shipping price on torrent’s website for the complete pump with reduction nozzle and trim comes out to almost $400 USD, so over $500 CAD. I’m flirting with the idea of putting a boat in Lake Ontario and asking them to meet me at the shore haha.

Did you give torrent a call and actually talk to Brian? What pump are you looking at? I know we are selling a lot of stuff right now.

I talked to Brian in an email a while back, but didn’t talk about shipping. I was planning on calling today, but haven’t had the chance yet. My number one priority is figuring out this hull since it’s finished and waiting

that price may include all the duties and taxes and such owing to get it to cross the border, I have found most websites have converted there systems to show all this so there are no fees at the door.

I didn’t think we had to pay duties on American made watercraft parts. Unless the recent changes to NAFTA removed those from the exempt list. My hull won’t have duties. I called to make sure of that.

You might want to look into that again man. Anything over $125.00 spent in the U.S. and brought over the border by you personally, they will want to see the bill of sale and charge import duties and exchange on it. I have very rarely been let go with a $200 USD purchase and always required to claim over that in customs. Even on used parts.

Yeah I’ll likely pay taxes, but not duties. I just got off the phone with Brian after playing phone tag for a few hours. He makes sure we don’t pay duty’s when he ships up here. He also told me that the shipping price on the website is a computer generated number that is way off and he doesn’t have the time to work out all the options so that it gives a more accurate quote.

Nice ski Mike! I can't wait to see what you can do on that!

The season is actually starting to look like it will happen around here. I've seen a few guys out on couches now, some launched from my preferred ramp. Boats are starting to get out there too. A few are now getting moored at the local club docks, and the weather is finally! finally starting to be ski weather again. The lake temp around here isn't outstanding though lol...a whopping 10*c today. How's everyone doing with ski prep this year?

Simcoe is up 6*F in 7 days - Can't complain with that. We took out the Seadoo for a little tour and a hangout. Waiting on the new XFS while parting out the Freak and trying to get rid of the 650 blaster and the 1100 blaster.

So nice to be able to spend a full day in the sun again - It's been way too long.

I like following these sites for the water conditions. The U.S. site gets its data from Canada for the great lakes, but they give you water temps, wave heights, durations... it's an excellent resource. Even though the closest buoy to here isn't quite spot on for our much shallower depths it's still a very close mark on what to expect if not right on the money. The wave heights they post are only in the big waters here but when you see numbers like 15 meters lol, you know you're still going to have a good day of riding. And yes those numbers are correct, last year I saw those figures two or three times.

Here is my favourite. Haven't ridden Surf in ages but when I did this is what I used to track and forecast. Easy and accurate. It is US based so the only downfall is when they shut down the government the site is closed. It's been bookmarked on my PC for over half a decade lol.

The pair I posted are active now. They go inactive in late fall because our govy pulls the buoys. They only redeploy in the Spring on a "whenever somebody is going to be in the area" schedule lol. I've seen them have it out there mid April, and some years it's late May.
