Thanks guys..dealer replied saying no crate and they won’t build one so that’s done with.yeah total cost would of been 15k including shipping, duty, taxes. looks like I have to wait for the border to open next year and hopefully Yamaha will still make a 2021 SJ. I have no idea about aftermarket hulls etc.. reading the parts list on some of the ads is like reading a foreign language lol. I do dirtbike and familiar with 2 strokes , not jet skis
Did find this though..

I’m not a big fan of bob hulls either. I rode a first or second gen a few years back. It felt too purpose built. Not as fun to rip around on but easy to backflip. There’s a reason they named it Backflip on a Budget.
Quebec has been good for finding skis lately but they seem to be slightly more expensive than what you find in Ontario. Either way, follow the Facebook groups Ontario Standup Jetski, SO*ON Freeride, and Canadian PWC parts. Quebec has their own too that would be good to follow if you don’t mind traveling to get the ski. Though I think there’s still a quarantine order if you cross into Quebec.
If you buy used, I would look for foot holds, exhaust and pole mods. It’s not hard to spend $1500+ on your pole. A pipe is pricey too but makes a big difference in performance. The best pipe for a stock or stockish motor is the factory B pipe, but I don’t think they make them anymore (anyone feel free to correct me on this) and are really hard to find used. Foot holds are cheap but require ripping up the turf in the tray, cutting the hull and fibreglassing them in. It’s much nicer for that to be done already.
Good luck and don’t be afraid to ask questions! The Ontario rider community is an amazing group. Very helpful and friendly.
