I got one that looks pretty much like that. Does it say hot rods on the side of the rod? It had nothing to do with water ingestion. Rod just snapped in half probably from a casting flaw. My old friend that died, Henry rapheld, said probably a good idea to have rods xrayed or magnafluxed on high dollar motors. Too much junk out there that costs big money

That's actually a good idea. I have seen a few videos of big hp boat cranks getting x-rayed as routine maintenance.
