H2O-X hood system from 24-7

but what do you guys think of the hood?
Do you like the feel of the ski? it looks like it put the bars too far back.
Is it worth $1500?
Have you ridden a Kawi X2? Can you give a comparison?

its everything an X2 ever wanted to be and more. you must ride it to understand it

guys who like fixed steering are just flat out not pole guys....IMO somone who has a mx/bmx or any other f/s motorsport history will be more comfortble with this type of setup. Personally, I enjoy riding it..but I am a pole pumper tried and true :)

keep in mind this conversion was designed to roll and flip...and those words are straight out of the creators mouth. However, that doesnt mean it cant be a wicked strong buoy boat with the right setup. In fact, that is exactly the first thought that went thru my mind when we water tested for the first time.

too far back for what? I think they're to far forward. I've ridden an x2 and it sucked so there is no comparison. fixed steering is where it's at! there should be a new fixed steering option soon...

the hood is very strong, I've split a heavily reinforced hull from under rotating rolls and the hood is still in good shape. there is plenty of room under the hood for the steering and works fine with the stock steering cable.

very strong..have seen NO breakage and TONS of room for the controls. to the OP..the steering cable slack is just taken up inside the hull..same as running a shorty pole

Why not just buy something with a seat?

if you honestly believe that, then you have obviously never ridden one.

i have spent plenty of time on an x2 and the handlebars are where the similaritys end.

the x2 feels very heavy and glued to the water compared to my ski.also the riders stance is completely different between the two skis.sometimes i wish i could move a foot closer to the outside of the hull like an x2,but whenever i ride an x2 i miss surf stance badly.

ya, i think i am definitely sold on the fixed steering thing. it just looks so cool and i love being diff. than the other guys i ride with.

Build your own ,Marks a dillweed

Don't know him, but all i can say is i never received an email back so.... it is what it is. (i'm not here to badmouth anyone)

Not sure if i'd build my own, but i'd still love to see some pics of the inside of one of these to really understand the mechanics of it....

...pics anyone???????

FYI ,the guy who owns 24-7 has ripped people off lately .there are threads that have numerous people saying they paid for parts and never received them and had to make claims on their credit cards .

I should have wrote he's a thief instead .

think this is one of the threads your referring too.

This one also.

One thread is about Full Throttle and the other is about 24/7. Both businesses run by the same person.

Like any business, do your research before you decide.... AKA Waterdawg Kustomz, do your homework.

Ouch... thats a LOT of negative feedback. I haven't ordered anything from him before, but based on the reading so far, i gotta think twice if i ever decide to. I just hope the "magic hood fairy" will have a similar product finished and out when i get back...... with better customer service!

I built a hillbilly version out of a 650sx,I was amazed at how comfortable I felt on the boat immediately,I was doing tricks within the first few minutes of riding it.It felt nothing like an X2 ,in fact its everything the X2 isn't,its very light and jumps better also the landings are not as harsh. This is just a backup boat to ride till my X2 goes back together but I am really liking it so far.

I've wanted one since I saw one like 4-5 years ago. This thread doesn't help. I think this would beat the X2.... and I love my X2.

Those are the things I think as I go back and forth between the SJ and the X2. X2 with no "seat" and a yamaha pump/motor.... thats what I want.

It pains me to say it but the 650sx conversion beats the X2 hands down so far,the X2 rails better but the SX seems so much lighter and jumps way better ,landings are not nearly as harsh either.I seriously wanted to build a shaved top X2 but then I started looking at this and thought hey thats basically what I have with a lot less work and a lot less weight, all those body mods add weight. I don't have to do a bottom mod either. It has a long way to go in the looks dept but it is coming along nicely.Next time I am in Pensacola I will let Madscientist take it for a spin to get his opinion.:woot:
