Other Hand warmer line routing

Hey guys, after doing a search and gathering tons of info...did i mention i love this site.... find myself with only one question in regards to the hand warmer mod.

when running the line up through the pole, do you have to drill a hole from the engine bay to the pole?? ie somewhere around the pole bracket?

can you use one of the "one way vents" ? or drill a hole the size of your tubing and then seal it up.

damn..i lied one more question...in regards to temps..is there an actual temp deg range for optimum engine performance or are you guys "winging it" via feel of water temp/engine behavior.

Should prolly' mention this is for an 04 octane

thanks for your help

I don't know about an octane, but there should be at least one tube that has all the wiring and cables on the handlebar bracket. If you look inside the engine compartment, above the gas tank you will see the throttle, turn, and electrical wiring/cables feeding into the pole. Just route it up through there.

As for temperature, I would guess people wing it. I'm planning on doing this mod, and I would assume the water should be warm, though not super hot.

Yup just what this guy said. Its not rocket science, just reroute the pisser up the pole along with the other cables. The temp will be the same as whats coming out of your ski regularly. Mine is hot enough that I have to wear gloves or it will burn my hands. Thats OK though, because if its just warm then you won't be able to feel the warm water through your gloves.

This is how I route the water to the grip area. Yes, you certainly need to wear gloves, it gets very hot when you get on the throttle!

I forgot!
I use an adj restricter on the head to help keep my motor hot. As the seasonal water warms up I open the restriction until it gets too hot. Then it is time to switch it back to the pisser and you don't need the Warner's.

Aside for the adjustable valve in your picture, I was just trying to figure out just exactly what I am looking at. It looks like you have some sort of modified TL electrical which you have glued to the side of your engine compartment, relocated the battery and added front/side exhaust and then replaced the fuel tank with a chunk of styrofoam??? Where's the fuel tank, on the bulkhead?

like what Snivilous run it thought the where cable and wiring are @.then what i did is installed 2 shut off valves one on the pisser to route the water pressure only on the hand warmer then 1 valve on the hand warmer to turn off went it warm out cause it dose get too hot,but here some picture off my set up

this valve goes to the handwarmer
