Handle pole?

I picked up a roundnose recently and had a few questions. I've seen alot on here about shortening the handle pole? Why? I'm 6'2" and have some damned stubby arms for my height. The ski I got is setup pretty well for freestyle, but I dont believe the pole has been touched. I'm pretty new to all this business, so thanks!

Most people do it to get their weight further forward and distribute their weight on the ski better. I'm 6' tall and have long ape arms but still run a full length pole. IMO, you make the pole a length where you're comfortable standing in the tray and adjust the ski to ride the way you want....most disagree with me though.

I'm 5'11 with arms. With a stock pole I find that when riding at any high rate of speed, I'm hanging my butt off the back of the ski. It's hard on my back. It's definitely a balance. I recommend the adjustable turn plate from X-metal. It allows you to adjust from -2.5 to -3.5.

Shortening the pole itself is easy. There's plenty of threads on how to do it.

I see what ur saying. I've experienced that too. I think I want to focus primarily on freestyle. Maybe I'll look into one of those adj plates you speak of! Thx.
