Looking at some new bars for my ski build I’m doing. Looking through all the pictures and build ups on this site it appears there is no conclusive answer but what I want to know is what size bars are the majority of people using, length from bar end to bar end. If it alters depending on the intended use of the ski, the ski is being built for wave jumping.

my question would be is the steering fixed or do you still run the fold down mechinism? some people use wider bars for better control (wider than the ski) I like the set of motocross bars that I use ( 28" from end to end ) but umi or others will work just fine . Most people use bars that fit them the best which imo is why you can't get a -these are the best bars for wavejumping answer.

get long ones and then after a few rides slide the grips in some. if you like them in cut off the ends.

and most surf riding x2ers like the low bars i think, my friends and i like the taller bars.

I'm riding low-rise MX bars with accu-steer steering. I haven't tried narrow bars yet.

x 2. Get the bars intended for 80 cc dirt bikes, spot on rise/width if you ask me!

On my old X2, I used UMI X2 bars and steering system. I still have the UMI so I bought a set of Renthals that best matched the specs on the UMI X2 bars.

Thanks for the replys im not unhappy riding my bars they are low and wide.. Just thought i would see what others are riding.. I have seen anything from pushie hangers.. Thanks guys

Steering is ok except for the poor water sealing. The bearings always rust solid stiff over the winter unless I repack the bearings every year with marine grease and gob it all over the top bearing before reassembliny the steering.

The the bars are weak compared ot MX bars like Renthals. I have bent two sets. Of course one pair was bent by my buddy running over my ski on the water and the other when the ski fell off the trailer while taking a turn. I bet one hard landing off a big wave with your body falling onto the bars and they will bend. I seriously don't think they heat treat them like Renthal does their MX bars.

I have UMI with PJS bars that I cut 2" off of each end. Ive had no problems. It really all depends on how you like to ride and whats comfortable to you.

I found these on ebay and ordered them they should be here any day. I will let you know how they work out. The measurments are about right for me and my girl.
