Hard Starting SJ

I have a SJ with a XScream SS865 motor in it and when im out on the lake and it stalls, it is hard to get started. Usually you need to keep the throttle open for a bit in order for it to start. I think that my starter is goinf bad because sometimes it makes this sqwealing noise, so could all of my problems just be because of the starter not being able to handle the compression of the new motor? Im not really thinking that anything is wrong with the motor because its basically brand new, and nothing has been touched on it since they sent it to me.

AS for the noice possible bendix. maybe weak battery, does it crank fast.

Yeah it cranks over just fine. I'm just thinking about the starter because it sqweals sometimes and i'm pretty sure its going bad.

Call the shop and leave a phone # and message with Chad and I'll call you, the only thing I'm thinking is maybe one of the carbs has a bad needle valve...
