Has anybody added a second stock siphon setup or upgraded to a larger one?

Has anybody added a second stock siphon setup or upgraded to a larger one? How much power (if any) do they really rob? I'm not a fan of electric bilge pumps and wouldn't mind removing my one way while I have my ski apart.

just remember a stock siphon only works when the ski is moving forward and empties at a very slow rate

where as an electric bilge will empty alot quicker

going with a stock style siphon is def a step backwards, unless you dont plan on submerging too much

I kill pumps and switches too often and I don't like the extra wiring in the engine bay.

I want my stock siphon back, too. :(

About the bilge wiring....I just redid mine to get power and ground from inside the ebox. It really cleans it up a lot.
I've been using the same pumps for two years now, and the same switch for nearly five years.

I like your wiring idea, but with my skills I'd probably just be creating a leak in the ebox.

On my last couple of builds I have robbed the bilge systems out of Kawi sit downs and installed them in place of the stock bilge, the line that goes through the ski is 5/8 or so and the hose and pickup are very large diameter , the hose in the back of the ski necks down at the back to hook up to your stock bilge system.

Ive been running twin rules for years with a hot products rotary bilge switch. If you wire it nicely and use waterproof connectors, youll never have a problem. Sounds like your having stuff in your engine bay getting stuck in the pump impeller. By buddy left his rule 500 on one time for like 6 hours and found it, still worked fine.

A second stock syphon would be a major pain in the azz to set up. Best tip I've found to keep an aftermarket bilge set up to last a long time is to solder ALL your wiring and install heatshrink over the soldered sections. The fuse should be packed with die-electric grease.

stock siphon and 1 bilge. like ther said, make sure everything is good and you should be fine. they last in boats for years, so theres no reason it wont work for a ski. and i dont think the stocker would "rob" any power. its not connected to the engine. and the little outlet in the nozzle wouldnt affect anything really. you certinly wouldnt notice a difference with it hooked up or not. my .02

I have the ones out of a couple GP's that appear slightly bigger than the Superjet ones. When i fist pulled them I was wondering about using them for some extra volume...I'd have to measure the hoses to verify actual dia. to match up the thru hull tube.

I have 2 of the larger assemblies from Yamaha Couches and a double setup out a seadoo as well if anyone wants to experiment. Just cover shipping costs and I'll send you one.
