if so i want to, i have a extra hood laying around that's TRASHED! so no matter what its not a loss id like to lower it so if there's no one that's done it im gonna be taking pics threw out the whole deal

A lot of SN guys have done it too.
If you want everything to be flush then yes, the lower the pole bracket, the lower you can make the hood. If you don't care about flushness, the internal components are your limit...you'd just have a pole that sticks up like an FX-1.
