Other Has anyone else had NGK plug failure (ceramic coming loose from base)?

Old thread but just wondering if NGK ever got back to you on this.

had it happen this past week and once or twice in the last few years. nothing is really changed in my setup. maybe just fuel related then. Fuel was probably a month old

Wax, i get all your other points, but can you elaborate on : " to much squish"
Wondering how that works, and its interesting that the original poster says he is now using a thicker head gasket then previous to reduce compression (but doesnt know his squish) which to me is crazy as he dropped 20psi in compression with a thicker head gasket, so i would imagine his squish is excessive.

A friend has a 750 that was separating the NGK insulator from the base. It was over propped and had too much timing.

Years ago i was having same issue with the front cylinder only breaking plugs. Chased my tail for a while thinking its timing, tuning, deto, drypipes, blah blah blah. Turned out i forgot the little spring for the bendix. At certain rpms it would shake in there and break a plug. After i installed a spring it never happened again in all the 25 years ive been riding jetskis
