Has anyone ever made a sloop tray like watercraft factory or a sxr? on a rn superjet. I like the way it looks when the back of the tray has that sloop in it. Like the superfreak hulls. I have seen a few people do this mod on squares but what about rounds?? Im thinking of doing this mod. Any help would be awesome..

you may have to defoam and lower the exhaust pipe
depending on how much youy lower the gunnels
if you are waterlogged, perfect time to do it!

I think he's referring to the drooping/sloping gunwales like the SXR has. The superfreak is a great example as well. I've seen builds on here for just about every ski. If you're using expanding foam, shaping it the way you want will be much easier. I never did it because I knew I would never get them identical and it would bother me.

Keeping everything symmetrical is a huge problem for me when shaping foam / laying glass . Contour gauges help , but it is still real hard.

Addict that came out really good. The superfreak really is my inspiration. I also plan on removng back exhaust outlit and putting it back side outlit. So I will be defoaming anyway

Alot of work for no performance gains. I would put the effort in widening the tray area as well if going that far on an OEM hull.
Gains are maybe some weight loss downfall is foam area loss (less flotation). Using 4# foam would help in shaping but then reduces the weight loss gain.
I like the rear side exhaust idea, no smoke in the face like front side exhaust and you gain the anti cavitation on tailspins and recoveries. It does make em louder though.

Actually my hull came in at 105lbs done with turf, and has proven to be a tank in the rear. The bilge has needed some extra reinforcing. I agree with the wide tray, thats the main reason I did it. The superjet tray is cramped, and mine ended up almost the size of an SXR. The footholds in that pic aren't the ones I made in the build thread, ended up changing them out.

that mod is not great for getting back on your ski in deep water, cause your elbows are much lower, do not like it personally... I agree w/ the other who say spend your time more wisely

I found it harder to get on addicts ski in daytona, but was damn happy he let me ride it. By no means is it a good reason to cut up your tray. But if it is already apart....ask yourself looks, or function?

I see more logic in widening the tray then lowering the gunnals. However, don't curse me if my next build ends up with a "sloop tray."
