Has anyone made a shuttlecraft?

Has anyone ever built their own shuttle craft for something like a stand up, B1, X2, etc? I'm talking something like a 3-seater jetski for a X2 or a 15' johnboat for a 1200 B1, or similar.

Right now I have a limited superjet, limited 750 X2, stock B1 and a 3-week old. I'm a planner, and always think a few years in advance so hopefully I can afford what I need at that time. If my family wants a boat, the market limits me to a shuttle craft for a large sit down or a boat, bye bye one of our skis. Boats good for carrying skis are pretty limited. I've wondered if it's realistic to build a 15-17' fiberglass boat into a shuttle craft, and push it with a 1200 B1 with reverse.

Here are some donor concepts from craigslist. This is not a project I would start any time soon and I am in no way committed to it. I just was wondering what you guys thought. 3-4 people, also a trolling motor hopefully, ski removable after anchor.

15ft w/ trailer $125
15 ft donor $125.jpg

15ft $500, too much money to hack up, but different hull style than above.

15ft donor $500.jpg

16ft, $50
16 ft donor $50.jpg

18ft donor, I'd image too heavy for a 1200 and how to remote steer / throttle?

18ft donor $50.jpg

21ft donor, probably way too big for a 1200.

I have been riding with my kiddo on the blaster since he was around 15m. He LOVES it and has no problems holding onto the handlebars. The wife has taken him on the b1 a couple times but prefers the raider. If I could find a 650 Sport Cruiser or Jetmate I think those would be ideal for the wife and kid.

Considering yamaha and seadoo ski boats I don't think any of the listed boats would be too heavy for an 1100. Won't be the fastest but who needs speed on something like this right?

As long as it gets on plane, just because plowing would be terrible on fuel and comfort. Itd be an intercostal cruiser and fueling station that coukd be detached for a race or wave session.

One place i ride surf is 3-4 miles to the inlet. At the right tide, there is a perfect sandbar inside the inlet to hang out at with minimal waves, but just on the outside of the inlet theres surf. Excellent family ride spot.

If you aren't necessarily looking for a project, check out the scarab 165id. Was my first boat and it was a blast with the 250. Originally I think it was a seadoo hull (speedster?) and benetau acquired the design and started putting the supercharged 150 and 250 rotax in them. Alot of people buy them and quickly move to a larger boat

In FL, a shuttlecraft doesn't require a registration. The ski pushing it covers the requirements of the registered vessel. The down side is that as a ski, it can't be used at night even with navigation lights, which for my intent, wouldn't matter. I'd also be looking for something that my beach cart could support that 1-2 people could push into the bed of the truck. Hitch hauler, cart, hull, done.

Probably never happen, but something I've always wanted to do.
