I think it sounds fun. Maybe plan to go with someone in case you get stuck or carry a cell phone for emergency's.

i went from just north of milwaukee to racine once... on a 30 ft cabin cruiser. We went with another boat about the same size. The waves got huge. I saw the lower unit of the boat next to us several times. Its weird seeing a boat that big outta the water.

Are there any waves in the middle of Lake Michigan?

Anywhere from flat as glass to 18 foot swells (not lying)..... and it can change in a matter of a couple hours.
