have sticker gook on my jet, what stuff to get it off?

3M also makes a decal remover wheel that looks like eraser material. You just mount it on a drill and they roll off glue and all pretty easy. It takes a little elbow grease but it is a one step process. No messy residue or chemical odors, just sweep up the bits of decal that rolls off.

I took all the decals off my ski in a matter of minutes, these wheels are the shizzznit ,,,,,,,, They rock well worth the $$$ It doesnt touch your paint except some rub marks that will come off with some quick waxing,,, it takes sticker adhesive everything off and leaves the paint,,,,

I bought my 3M eraser wheel at an auto body supply store. I bet they would also have the aerosol product or something similar. Look in the yellow pages and call a few of these places. Good luck

I used carb cleaner, not sure how good it is for custom paint but for the stock paint on my Raider it melted the sticker glue like right now and wiped off quick.

we were taking the nasty 15 year old graphics off my friends sj and nothing would take it off. I finally found this stuff called aircraft(brand) adhesive remover. it comes in an aerosol can and man it works good. sprayed it on and the stuff came off like butter. nothing I have ever tried even compares to this. the 3m stuff did nothing for us.

Oh yeah aircraft brand adhesive remover available at most auto part stores works great !!!

be sure not to get the aircraft remover by misteak though !
or you will remove your aircraft

I've used the construction grade or whatever Goo Gone and had really great results as well as Sticker Shock (bought that at Pep Boys) with good results as well.

I used it on stickers though not decals that have been sitting on a ski for a bit.

Good luck.

Do not use chemicals + heat, 1 or the other. Just use heat, and get some plastic razor blades. What's left can be cleaned up with: 3M Adhesive Remover Almost every auto parts store has this (that does not include R&S Strauss, Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc....)

I tried the following to remove the left over adhesive:

3M(but I got the Adhesive and Wax remover, probably not agressive enough chemicals)
Goo Gone sucked
Oops sucked
Goof Off sucked
Brake Cleaner worked great. Spray it on, use a plastic scraper...done. And at $1.69 a can,you can't beat it.

we tried about 5 different things on my friends 91 SJ. the only thing that worked was aircraft brand adhesive remover. nothing else came even close to getting that sticker crap off. it is by far the best thing I have ever used and I have used quite a few products in that category.

3M Adhesive remover , quart can, red and white label,,go to West Marine, they have it or order on-line...
Get an old washcloth or bag "o" rags from Walmart....
Soak the rag, lay it on the area in question,,drink beer, come back later and the beer will have magically loosened up the decal..
Apply more 3m to new rag and finish...
More beer drinkin time with less effort...
We use this stuff on all of our Yachts at Galati's...Galati's real picky about what the tech's use on the Yacht's.
Trust me,,,They have Bro's in the Bronx.....

I've used that aersol stuff and it works good...don't keep it completely soaked in that stuff tho...spray it on let in sit for a few seconds then just rub it really hard, put a lot of pressure on it and keep rubbbing it will start to get gooie and slimey when it does that stop and spray again and repeat untill uber clean

So this is kinda off topic but what would you guys use on the black paint of my brand new truck to get the residue off form the stock badges? I tried goof-off on a little tiny corner and it was no good. Had to buff it out really well. Would gasoline mess up the clear coat like the goof off did?

Lay some paper towels over the area and soak them wit goof-off. This will keep the goof-off from evaporating and penetrate the glue better. It still takes a little elbow grease.

Somebody posted this before, and it worked the best for me. Let it soak, and scrape off with razor blades. WD-40 worked good too, but the paper towel trick was the best idea to keep the stuff on there while it does it's thing.

Damn it. I forgot the beer. What the hell was I thinking? No wonder I had such a hard time.:banghead: :banghead:

I found that goof-off in the yellow can worked really well. Use a hairdryer to remove the sticker part, then apply some goof-off to a towel and wipe over the glue. Wait for a few minutes, then take a (dull!!!) razor blade/plastic scraper and scrape it off. Give it one last good wipe with a dry cloth and your done!
